The bar and restaurant owners in the coastal city of Vlora claim that yesterday’s adjustments to the music curfew in tourist towns isn’t enough.
After the Experts Committee’s verdict to push back the music curfew to 23:00 p.m., the leaders of the bar-owner protest have said that they have three demands for the government.
- They are asking that they be allowed to play music in their enterprises for the entire remainder of the tourist season at least until 00:00 a.m.
- In addition, they are asking that the regular night curfew be pushed back to 02:00 a.m.
- Their third demand is to have fewer police officers patrolling the tourist areas because according to them, this creates a negative effect for their business activities.
Bars and restaurants along the Lungomare promenade in Vlore that had closed their doors yesterday as a sign of protest, are back to business today but the leaders of the protest told Euronews Albania that they are expecting the government to reflect on their demands, otherwise they threaten to close their services again as a sign of continuing their protest.
