The meeting called by the owners of hotels and bars in Vlora to extend their time allowance to play music in their venues brought up another problem affecting them.

Starting from July 1, according to the guidelines of the Committee of Experts on COVID-19 measures, bars and hotels can only operate at 30% of their total capacity.

The prefect of Vlora, Flamur Mamaj, said that the “rules are meant to be followed” and reiterated that businesses will be under close scrutiny.

However, bar owners are deeply dissatisfied by the measures as all their hopes for recovering from the economic impact of the pandemic were on a more relaxed summer season.

“We want them to allow us to play music at least until 12 AM. We have decided to come together and protest in all forms”.
