The night before the first plenum of the new Albanian Parliament, Chair of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha declared that he will be excluding Sali Berisha from DP’s parliamentary group, at least until all legal procedures are finalized.

In his press release, Basha stated that the former leader of the Democratic Party and former prime minister, Sali Berisha, is “the most important contributor to Albanian politics”.

“In order to avoid any misunderstanding, until the finalization of the assessment of our legal pleading for transparency and until the case if completely resolved from the legal framework, Berisha will be excluded from DP’s parliamentary group”.

“This is one of the most difficult moments for me, as a Democrat, as a politician and close collaborator with Sali Berisha,” – said Basha.
