According to Lulzim Bashas, after April 25th, the Democratic Party grew stronger and more united.
While asking for a reconfirmation of his third term as Chair of DP, from the members of the party in Diber, Basha stated that PM Rama is making efforts to remove him from this mission.
“The only thing in his hands is to divide us. Let’s be frank, straight-forward, Edi Rama doesn’t want us to continue the battle and he doesn’t want me to be at the forefront of this battle,” stated Basha.
During his time in Diber, the head of the Democrats also spoke on the offer of the socialists to continue the Electoral Reform.
“He is trying to hide the electoral massacre by extending his hand and asking for our collaboration; he wants us to take the bait, by supposedly inviting us to change the electoral code, only after he executed the electoral massacre. He wants to compromise the only force standing before him and he knows very well, that despite the massacre of April 25th it didn’t kneel down but on the contrary, it became stronger and more united,” said Basha.
Despite the fact that no appeals were submitted by DP to CAS for the county of Diber, Basha argued that the construction of the electoral massacre machine applied on April 25th started in this county since the local elections of 2016.
“You know better than anyone that the electoral massacre of April 25th was the product of a machine, which started in Diber during September 2016 and then spread across the entire nation in June 2017, only to take the wildest shape Albania has ever known in 30 years of pluralism, during the electoral massacre of April 25th,” stated Basha.
