Lulzim Basha has reacted through a statement, after his reconfirmation as the leader of the Democratic Party. Through a video message, the head of DP congratulated every member, who voted for the new candidate, the previous day.
“You proudly showed the world that we are standing, that we are united, that we are strong and that exactly at that point, when hardships seem insurmountable, we don’t give up,” said Basha.
He also thanked the candidates that challenged him during the internal elections, while emphasizing that the democrats’ battle is against what Basha called “the Rama-Doshi regime”.
“My gratitude goes for the other three candidates as well, who made this race true, challenging and dynamic. I have a message for every one of them: We have opposing ideas but we share the same principles, which is why I am certain that beyond all differences, starting from today, our energies and efforts will go towards facing the Democratic Party’s and the majority of Albanians’ only opponent, the Rama-Doshi regime,” argued Basha.
The leader of the democrats also said that it is time to begin the attack for the protection of democracy and to expel the Rama administration.
“It’s time for us to get to battle, one more time, in the name of democracy, Albania and Albanians until the ousting of a minority that still holds the will of the majority hostage. Us, together with the Albanian people will overthrow this regime,” ended Basha.
