As the Assembly of the Socialist Party concluded, the leader of the Democratic Party released a public statement on his stance over the new ministerial cabinet.

In a Facebook status, Lulzim Basha refers to Edi Rama as “the destroyer of democratic coexistence and responsible for the criminalization of the entire country”, adding that his “rhetoric might deceive himself, but not the Albanian people over the electoral massacre”, a term widely used by the leader of the Democrats to describe the parliamentary elections.

According to him, OSCE/ODIHR proved that elections weren’t free nor democratic, and were characterized by massive vote-buying and exerting pressure on voters.

“For the Democratic Party, the OSCE/ODIHR report is not only a confirmation of what we’ve been denouncing, and what Albanians have experienced from this corrupted regime that has murdered free voting and together with it democracy, but a guide for our internal and external action, to restore to the Albanian people the right to have a government that stems from free will, and not from crime and corruption, that have left Albania in a stalemate for a long time”, wrote Basha.
