The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, where he strongly condemned the terrorist acts with explosives on the Ibër-Lepenic Canal, which aim to destroy Kosovo’s critical infrastructure and undermine Kosovo’s national security.
In an announcement distributed by the Presidency, it is stated that the President strongly supports all the efforts of the Republic of Kosovo to deal with the situation and investigate and fully punish this act of sabotage and terrorism.
A powerful explosion occurred on Friday evening in Varaga of Zubin Potok, which damaged the Ibër-Lepenc water channel.
The canal in which the explosion occurred supplies the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) with water, and this caused problems with electricity and water supply in the north of Kosovo. The act has been described as terrorist by the Kosovo government, which has blamed Serbia for the attack.
