One of the wounded girls from the mass school shooting in Belgrade a few weeks ago, has sadly passed away.
The news was confirmed by the Serbian Health Ministry to the public television.
The girl had suffered serious injuries during the mass shooting that took place on May 3rd in the “Vladislav Ribnikar” primary school, in the Serbian capital.
Eight other children and the school guard were killed during the attack, committed by a 13-year-old boy.
With the recent death, the number of victims from this case reaches 10.
In light of the tragedy, the government announced tougher gun laws, as well as the dispatch of police officers in every school of the country.
The government also gave citizens until June to surrender illegally owned weapons, without facing harsher consequences.
Mass shootings in Serbia are rare, yet the number of weapons in the country is relatively high.
Only a day after the school tragedy, a 21-year-old killed eight people and wounded several others in the vicinity of Belgrade.
