The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj said that he is not campaigning for the elections when he was asked if he feels that the opposition candidate Belind Kellici is a competitor.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that schools, roads, or districts are not being built for the campaign.

Veliaj also added that he has won all the battles with the DP, referring here to the open files at SPAK.

“I have not dealt with the election campaign at all. We work every day, we don’t build schools, roads or parks for campaigning. We have been working every day for the last 8 years. What distinguishes us from the previous administration, which did not build any schools? I think we should look at the facts and not the opinions. I believe we will have a smooth campaign and continue with this pace of transformation.

I think the contrast is very clear. I have won all the battles with DP. I have won about 10 defamation lawsuits. Of course, a man who works is the one who is attacked. As long as I have been called to serve the citizens, I’m prepared that the DP will go to SPAK for every last straw, as I’m prepared to win all the battles”, he said.
