Lawyer Idajet Beqiri has stated that without the complete withdrawal of the head of the DP Sali Berisha and the head of the PL, Ilir Meta from politics, change will not happen in our country.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that in our country there should be an opposition without the burdens of the past.

“We must create an opposition that does not carry any of the burdens from the past and one that does not have to carry any of the ‘heavyweights’ that it is currently carrying. This should be done in the name of the electorate as well as the expectations of the Albanian people as a whole. The change will never come if Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta will be at the forefront of the Albanian opposition. They are the two big evils of the country” – he said while commenting on Enkelejd Alibeaj’s decision to withdraw his complaint about DP’s statute.

The Court of Appeals has decided to dismiss the case regarding the Democratic Party’s statute, after the withdrawal of the appeal by Enkelejd Alibeaj.

Alibeaj had requested that the decisions of the assemblies of July 17 and December 18 be registered together. After the suspension of this issue, the battle for the Democratic Party will continue only in the case of Agron Zhukri’s decision on who the seal of the Democratic Party belongs to.
