The leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, said from the weekly podium in front of the Prime Minister’s Office that the January 24 protest will mark the beginning of the end of the government.

According to Berisha, Albanians and the entire world are waiting for the opposition’s courage to overthrow what he calls a regime.

“Albanians are waiting for January 24 as their day, as their moment, as their great truth. Therefore, each of us this week, in these days, each of us and every opposition supporter, must do everything so as not to be absent from Albania on January 24. Not to be absent from freedom on January 24. Not to be absent from civic courage on January 24. Not to be absent from human dignity on January 24.

Friends, the entire world is waiting for our word, our voice, our courage, our action. Major events — the December protest echoed powerfully across the world. Your voice was heard in all four corners of the planet,” Berisha said.
