Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has announced that protests will begin with the opening of the new parliamentary session in September.

In a statement to the media, Berisha emphasized that protests are the only way to confront what he described as the “narcostate,” aiming to restore free and fair voting for Albanian citizens.

“Protests are overdue. Albanians have only one path—the path of protest and confrontation with the narcostate to win back the right to free vote. Without question, we will launch protests; there is no other way,” said the former Prime Minister.

Berisha’s warning comes as the opposition prepares to launch its political action following the end of the summer recess.
