The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said that on December 22 the Democratic Party (DP) will begin a battle of civic protests until the government is overthrown, a technical government is formed, and free elections are held.
In a statement on social media, Berisha described as a decision “written in Edi Rama’s offices” the ruling of the Constitutional Court that lifted the suspension from office of Belinda Balluku.
“That decision of the Constitutional Court, written in Edi Rama’s office after extraordinary pressure and bribery with staggering sums, in the truest sense of the word, is a license for Edi Rama, his family, and his ministers to steal—to steal as much as possible from Albanians.
The decision written in Edi Rama’s offices overrides and bypasses the entire Albanian judicial system, which under the Constitution has the authority to review security measures, through the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court…
Edi Rama used all the gangs that were brought into parliament, one by one, 28 MPs.
He monstrously manipulated the diaspora vote.
Thus, he violated article by article the fundamental principles of the 1990 Copenhagen Charter on elections, the Electoral Code, the Council of Europe’s platform on elections, and the Venice Code.
All of this ultimately proves that elections with Edi Rama are an illusion. Elections can never take place—except as a farce.
Therefore, the DP calls first and foremost on Democrats, but also on every citizen who considers the free vote the heart of democracy, to begin our battle on the 22nd—a battle that will end only with the overthrow of this regime, the creation of a technical government, and the free voting of Albanians, in which, absolutely, the DP will win the elections.
Edi Rama has never won elections,” Berisha said.
