The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said on the Now show on Euronews Albania that on January 21, 2011, he was in his office at the Prime Minister’s Office and had no intention of moving for any reason.

Berisha said that when the opposition protest started, he was not there, but went to the office and did not come out because, as he pointed out, he is a state official.

“If someone tells me why I stayed in the Prime Minister’s office, I would stay there until the last minute, I would not move from the place. Even at the price of my life in the first place, because I did not betray either the post, the flag, or the duty. I was not there and I ran back and entered the office. I did it, I am a man of duty”, said Berisha.

On February 11, Sali Berisha called the fourth national protest after returning to the leadership of the Democratic Party. The call for protest was announced by Berisha a few days ago and is undertaken as a reaction to the case of the former FBI agent, Charles McGonigal, where the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, is also mentioned in the investigation file.
