The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has chosen to congratulate the citizens on the 110th anniversary of Albania’s Independence through a video message on the TikTok social network.

“Albania’s independence is the holiday of all Albanian holidays. Without the Independence of Albania, we would have disappeared into the mists or the nebulae of the Balkans,” said Berisha.

He expressed his respect for Ismail Qemali and all those men and women who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.

“Thank God today we are free, in Albania, Kosovo, and wherever we are, but today we have a very major problem. This regime, which with the policies it follows, with the anti-reforms it carries out, with the looting it does to the national wealth and public funds, is driving away Albanians, is driving away the youth of the nation like no other regime in history,” added Berisha.

The chief democrat said that Independence Day is a call for every Albanian to take on the responsibility to transform the Albanian land into the home of the future.
