The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has once again accused Prime Minister Edi Rama, regarding the attack during the opposition’s protest on December 6, where a 31-year-old man from the crowd punched him in the face.

In his speech at the FRPD assembly, Berisha, who had put on sunglasses to hide the wound on his righthand cheek, said that Rama had sent over a coward to hit him, but not even this could kill the greater cause.

“Edi Rama, this coward, picks out a criminal from the streets to come and hit me. A man may be punched, he may be killed, but the greater cause will never die. We will quickly prove to Edi Rama that our cause will triumph in the end. That we will never give up Albania, that we will never give up freedom, that we will never give up the free vote! Those who fought invaders over the course of history fought them with the motto: We’ll achieve freedom or die trying! We will fight them with the motto: we may give up our lives but we will never give up our vote! You will regret the day you touched our vote, Edi Rama!”, said Berisha.
