Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has declared that the activities of the Soros Foundation in Albania will be banned by law, calling it a “real national threat.” In a public speech, he compared this measure to the decommunization process of the 1990s, emphasizing the need for a “de-Sorosization” of the country.
Additionally, Berisha accused the current government of impoverishing citizens and mismanaging the country’s resources. He stated that 45% of Albanians have emigrated, describing this as a major loss for the nation.
“45% of Albanians have left. If you imagine Albania, you cannot help but picture a terrible void inside its body—45%,” said the PD leader.
According to Berisha, a special law will prohibit any collaboration between state institutions and organizations linked to Soros. He stated that this initiative is part of a broader transformational program aimed at bringing deep political and economic change.
“The activities of the Soros Foundation in Albania will be banned by law as a real national threat. A law will prohibit state institutions and the administration from cooperating with Soros-linked organizations. A law will ensure that no one—under any circumstances, not even through a referendum—will be allowed to tamper with the family, the parent, or gender, beyond what has been determined by God and nature.
That is why it is essential to multiply our energies and efforts for a strong and united front with all political forces that feel responsible before the Albanian people. We must unite all groups and social classes around a remarkable program—a program that will transform Albania.
I assure Albanians that we have a transformative program. We have a program for rapid transformation,” Berisha stated.
At the end of his speech, Berisha called on all political forces and social groups to join this cause, describing it as vital for Albania’s future.
