The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held the third meeting of his “Foltore” this Friday, this time in Elbasan.

During this forum, Berisha also addressed the gender law, which he described as not only a law that reshapes human gender, but one rooted in left-wing extremism.

“We are facing a battle to save the family. My friends, this new law is not only a law of reconfiguring human gender, but a law of left-wing extremism, of the far left. For centuries, one of humanity’s greatest achievements has been the presumption of innocence—meaning that until you are convicted, you are innocent. This law makes you guilty the moment someone comes and says, ‘you discriminated against me,’ and then you must prove that you did not discriminate. It is the most Stalinist, the most extremist law imaginable. And this was voted through by Edi Rama.

It is a law of censorship. Because if a parent speaks to a child about gender as God created it; if a priest preaches about gender according to the Bible; if an imam speaks about gender according to the Quran—they are punished. They are punished because the law does not accept these views; the law condemns them. This law was passed a month ago. Therefore, this is an existential battle for us,” Berisha said.

Meanwhile, he called on Albanians to prepare for strong protests, even to the point of overthrowing the regime.

“That is why I am here today—to call on you, to call on the citizens of this region and all Albanians, to prepare for the most powerful revolts this country has ever seen. There are dissatisfied people, that is true. There are people who have contracts with the government, that is true. There are people who receive favors from the government, that is true.

Still, I am very optimistic, because I firmly believe that there are thousands upon thousands of idealists who place the ideal of freedom and human dignity, of the family and Albania, of the Albanian nation, above everything else.

And so we will begin a battle in which we will not stop until victory—until the overthrow of this regime and the deserved victory of the Democratic Party,” Berisha said.
