The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, on Sunday, in a statement to the media, spoke about the developments and expressed gratitude to the citizens who took part in yesterday’s protest.
During his remarks, Berisha stressed that the regime was shaken to its foundations and that citizens triumphed in the streets and squares of Tirana. According to him, citizens became the voice of conscience of honest people who do not accept a government that does not arise from their will, but from an electoral farce.
“Hundreds of thousands of citizens from Tirana and all across Albania faced, with extraordinary courage, for more than three hours, the phalanxes of crime and the narco-regime of Edi Rama. Great honor to all those citizens from all over Albania who protested resolutely against the rotten ‘Rilindja,’ against Edi Rama’s criminal organization. Yesterday’s citizens’ protest, which took place in all four corners of the country, is connected only to Rama. Yesterday, the regime was shaken to its foundations, and citizens triumphed in the streets and squares of Tirana. They became the voice of conscience of honest people, who will never accept a government that does not come from their will, but from an electoral farce, a government that steals 90% of their taxes.
It was the very conscience of the nation in this battle that conveyed a message to all Albanians that they are not fighting for Sali Berisha, for the Democratic Party, or for other parties, but for their own conscience, for human dignity, and for the national interest. They are fighting for the rights of every Albanian. This is what makes this protest unique—this is a protest of conscience, and there is nothing more powerful, nothing more unbreakable, and nothing more unbeatable than what springs from the conscience of the people.
The protest had an extraordinarily important and fundamental novelty: it was dominated by youth, by young people and adolescents. It was dominated by their courage, energy, and determination—a great omen for Albanians, with the hope that young people will be the generation that will overthrow this criminal organization,” Berisha said.
