The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, emphasized in a media statement this Friday that the sole priority of the opposition is to restore free voting rights for Albanian citizens. He stated that any opposition that accepts the current electoral situation, in his view, “becomes a worthless satellite in the orbit of power.”

“The defense, the fight by all means, is so that Albanians can vote freely.
There is only one objective now—Albanians must be able to vote freely. Without restoring free voting, the country cannot have a true opposition.

An opposition that agrees with this situation cannot be a real opposition, because it turns into a satellite orbiting power and is of no value.

Therefore, the opposition will mobilize all its potential to restore the free vote to Albanians. Every option is on the table, but overall, a fight on all fronts is the most favored approach,” Berisha declared.
