The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, made a public appearance for the first time since the incident on December 6, when a 31-year-old man broke away from the crowd during the opposition’s protest and punched the historic leader of the Democrats before being mobilized by Berisha’s guards and arrested. Shortly after, he was taken to jail where he is currently residing and pending trial.
In his speech at the FRPD assembly, Berisha, who had put on glasses to hide the wound on his right cheek, told the young people present that Albania is only saved through a revolution.
According to him, the country is only rescued by the brave who will go face-to-face with the regime of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“Albania is not saved by prayers, Albania is not saved by declarations. Albania is saved by a revolution. It is saved by the brave, those who love it, those who succeed, it is saved by those like you, who are ready to go face to face, a tooth for a tooth! The scum of the old regime, with Edi Rama, this son of an executioner who hates the Albanian being, who hates the freedom of Albanians, who hates the dignity of Albanians”, the chief democrat emphasized, among other things.
