Silvio Berlusconi is not only a politician who was connected to Albania because of his position as prime minister. Even after leaving official positions, his contribution to the relations between the two countries continued in the same way.
In 2013, together with the translator Keda Kaceli, he made possible the publication in Italian of Father Zef Plumi’s book “Rrno per me tregue”.
The book titled “Gjaku Abelit” in Italian was published not only with his care, but also with a special preface.
In the introduction to the book, Berlusconi states that this publication should be read in Italian schools.
“This volume breaks years of silence and death on the Albanian gulag and shows the courage of those who love freedom and fight in its name. This book should not only be distributed in all libraries and turned into a television documentary, but read in Italian schools, to make young people understand some bitter truths of recent history”.
Berlusconi states in his message that At Zef Plum’s confession shows us that communism deformed societies, but not faith and human dignity.
