Minister of Interior Taulant Balla applied in the early hours of this Thursday morning to renew his biometric passport.

Services for issuing and renewing identification documents are being carried out by the state-owned company “IdentiTek” since August 1.

To obtain ID cards and passports, citizens must purchase the respective coupons at the Albanian Post offices.

Minister Balla also followed the same procedure. After obtaining the coupon, he appeared at the “IdentiTek” offices to proceed with the biometric data deposition.

Citizens who have purchased old coupons with the former concessionaire’s logo, which they have not used, now have the option to exchange them for new coupons from the state-owned company “IdentiTek” at the Albanian Post offices.

The Ministry of Interior and “IdentiTek” aim to assure citizens that the payments made will remain valid through the procedure of exchanging the old coupons with the new ones. As of August 3, citizens will also find coupons for the Fast Track service at the Albanian Post offices.
