American congressman, Ritchie Torres, has reacted with critical tones to the statement of the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, addressed to the Kosovo authorities about the situation in the north.

Torres writes through a post on Twitter that Kosovo is a staunch ally of the USA, he has helped the country in the case of housing Afghan refugees.

He adds that it is not good for him and his Albanian constituents to see the US secretary criticize and attack an ally like Kosovo.

“Kosovo is a staunch ally of the USA. When the US needed places to house Afghan refugees, Kosovo was the first and among the few to rise to the occasion. It is disheartening for me and my Albanian constituents to see Secretary Blinken attacking an American ally,” Torres said in a tweet.

Blinken had a very critical reaction after the tensions in the north, where he condemned the actions of the Kosovo authorities for the unnecessary escalation of tensions.
