The distribution of textbooks for basic and secondary education has started. Students from the first to the third grade benefit from the new books, while the other classes receive the books that the students of the previous year used. The format is known as the legacy of the book, to teach students to take care of them and not to distribute them.

There are about 238 thousand students who benefit from these, about 227 thousand students from the first grade to the ninth grade who will be provided with free textbooks and about 12,500 students from the tenth grade to the twelfth grade who belong to certain categories such as…

Categories of students who receive free textbooks:

  • Children/students attending primary education from first to fourth grade.
  • Children/students who are third or higher in the education order of children of the same family.
  • Children/students who are part of families that are treated with economic assistance and unemployment benefits from local self-government units.
  • Children/students who are victims of trafficking receive help and assistance from the National Trafficking Victim Reception Center, the National Center for Victims of Domestic Violence and the National Transitional Emergency Center.
  • Children/students who are beneficiaries in residential social care institutions at the National Reception Center for Victims of Trafficking.
  • Roma and Egyptian children.
  • Orphaned children etc.

The distribution of books is done on the basis of schools and teachers, they decide through a chart the dates when each class will have the opportunity to receive the books, avoiding queues and their absence.
