The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, spoke after the end of the meeting in Brussels between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

During a press conference, Borrell said that both leaders expressed readiness for the European plan and added that there could be another meeting in March.

“They have expressed their readiness for the implementation of the agreements, but negotiations are still needed to have a decision on the implementation of specific modalities for the agreements. This means that the diplomatic engagement will continue and we will have another meeting between the two leaders in mid-March, in order to finalize the discussions and implement the agreements. I want to say that the EU has reminded both sides of their obligations from previous agreements. From the middle of March, Miroslav Lajcak will have to go to Kosovo and Serbia again, to visit them, to follow them and to prepare them for the next high-level meeting”, he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that he had a difficult meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on Monday in Brussels.

“I believe that we will have many meetings in the coming period”, he said.

Kurti and Vucic held the next meeting in Brussels, with the mediation of the head of the foreign policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell and the EU envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.
