Journalist Flori Gjini narrated during “NOW with Erla Mehilli” the conversation he had with the mother of the Kenyan woman killed in Tirana.

“In yesterday’s conversation on the phone, the mother gave some details. The only option left for the Kenyan was Turkey,” said Gjini.

Joy Ayoko was admitted to the Trauma hospital on August 14, 2022. She was found unconscious, and raped under the balcony of her house. The 22-year-old initially survived her injuries, but a brain injury left her in a vegetative state.

The young woman could not survive the injuries received, passing away 6 months after the serious incident. From that day until today, there is still no suspect, although the track of rape is confirmed by the statements of the Prosecutor’s Office.
