In Bulgaria, the issue of Albania’s integration into the European Union has been discussed again.

Vice President Iliana Lotova has requested the separation of our country from North Macedonia, as the neighboring country will find it difficult to progress in this process due to the refusal to recognize the Bulgarian minority.

“Bulgaria has no claims against Albania”, declared the senior Bulgarian official, adding that Tirana should follow the process separated from Skopje.

For two years in a row, Albania was blocked on the way to membership in the European Union due to the veto that Bulgaria imposed on North Macedonia. Two states have open issues of identity, language and history.
