Businesses in Tirana will have to pay a higher value for the building tax. According to the areas in the capital, they will pour 2,000 to 24,000 lek more into the budget every year.
The increase in reference prices for properties in Tirana will automatically make the building tax more expensive for businesses.
Their annual payments will increase from 5 to 91%, according to the cadastral areas in Tirana. This means that businesses will pay from 2,000 to 24,000 lek more than the current annual price.
The building tax is related to the area and the market value, and as such it is different for each commercial unit.
In terms of value, the annual building tax paid by businesses at fiscal 2023 prices is nearly 9 times more than what households pay for apartment tax.
The formula for calculating the tax value of the building where the economic activity takes place, provides that the tax is 0.2% of the value of the store, while the value of the store in Tirana is calculated as twice the fiscal price per square meter of the apartments.
For district businesses, the building tax level does not change, as the reference prices, on the basis of which the value of the building is calculated, have not changed.
