Candidate for MP from “Nisma Thurje”, translated as “Hashtag Initiative” explained to journalist Ilva Tare the reasons why she chose to run for the district of Elbasan.
She said that due to the “wrong political approaches” taken over the years, the city of Elbasan has been struck by poverty and depopulation.
“I am half from Elbasan and I’ve spent some childhood years in Librazhd and I also had family there. We have friends and relatives. That was one of the reasons. Then, it has to do with the fact that Elbasan is one of the most important districts in Albania, as well as the poorest”, she said.
She says that during electoral meetings she has noticed that that the district is lacking some of the most basic things, such as roads, drinking power, and electricity.
“Elbasan has seen a drastic drop of its population coming as a result of poverty”, she added.
Of crucial importance to Hajdari is erasing the negative label that the city has for its ties with organized crime and vowed that if she wins a term she will “do everything possible to tackle the problem”.
“We won’t compromise with crime. We want to bring a highly Western spirit and we have a responsibility to fight this phenomenon befallen this district, which can have a better economic opportunity. Elbasan can turn into an important economic district”, emphasized Hajdari.
