In the National Library of Kosovo, candles were lit for the 1,400 people killed in Israel and a call was made for the release of 239 hostages taken by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

In the event that was organized by the Kosovo-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Israel’s ambassador to Kosovo, Tamar Ziv, said that after the end of the Second World War and the Holocaust, the world said “there will never be a massacre of Jews again”.  But, according to Ziv, on October 7, when the Palestinian militants of Hamas attacked Israel, they “brutally massacred” 1,400 people, including foreign citizens.

“The events of October 7 constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity,” she said through the video link, clarifying that because of the war it was impossible for her to physically participate in this event.

This event was attended by representatives of embassies in Kosovo and accredited ambassadors, including the American ambassador, Jeffrey Hovenier.

Since Hamas attacked the south of Israel, Israel’s army has continuously bombarded the Gaza Strip and Israel’s troops are also carrying out a ground attack in order to destroy the militant group.

As a result of the fighting, over 10,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, health authorities in the Hamas-run territory have said.
