In Tirana, the use of the car can be prohibited every day of the week. The proposal is made with the aim of reducing the level of pollution.

With the argument to reduce the level of air pollution, car traffic will be limited in the capital.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has drawn up the plan, where it proposes that private cars be taken out on the road on certain days of the week, for example according to the car’s license plate. (document photo)

This measure, submitted for public consultation, can start to be implemented within this year, if it passes for approval, while a similar practice has also been established in large cities in Europe, the USA and Asia.

Meanwhile, the national plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions also provides for other measures such as the setting of traffic taxes, the promotion of public passenger road transport or the improvement of road quality.
