The cases of flu or seasonal viruses have been decreasing during the last two weeks.
However, pediatricians still refer to a high number of sick children, where on average each doctor reports visiting around 25 children per day.
“It is noticeable that there is a decrease in affected persons and cases, while the children continue to be in the same condition, I can say that compared to the period of January, we are a little calmer, it is not the flow of visits and viruses that we had ,” said pediatrician Sonila Brati.
Winter viruses have given way to upper respiratory tract infections, while chicken pox has reappeared.
“Dominant these days are infections of the respiratory tract, mainly problems of the ear and tonsils; there is a return of laryngitis or dry cough, there is also a return of chicken pox, which these days have been manifested on occasions in nurseries or kindergartens among children,” Brati said. Doctors appeal for children to be kept at home during the days they are sick, since only this can stop the spread of the infeciton.
