Only three days ahead of the local elections, the Central Election Commission addressed a letter to the Special Anti-Corruption Structure, the State Police and the General Prosecutor’s Office.

In the letter signed by the Electoral Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, a coordination of the work of law enforcement institutions is required, in order to prevent and identify criminal offenses in the May 14th elections.

The CEC requests from law enforcement bodies to assign and recognize the relevant contacts regarding the sending and receiving of relevant information. In the letter, the CEC states that this coordination is important until the end of the vote-counting process.

As far as the elections are concerned, Chief Prosecutor Olsian Çela has issued a circular for the priority identification of offenses that violate free elections, while the State Police is expected to be on standby to guarantee the conduct of Sunday’s elections. Even in the Special Anti-Corruption Structures, some of the prosecutors will be at the ready for any material that may be referred.
