The head of civil emergencies, Haki Cako, in an interview for Euronews Albania from Lezha, spoke about the situation due to the heavy rains and flooding.
Cako said that we are not dealing with an extraordinary situation while adding that all relevant structures have been put to work to keep the situation under control.
Among other things, he emphasized that they are monitoring the cascade of Drin, Fierza, Koman, and Vau i Dejes.
“It is a busy situation that has come in the last few hours due to the high intensity of the flows. Almost all structures are on duty, like the prefecture, the head of civil emergencies, the armed forces, and the citizens who are available to help. Hopefully, the receding of the river will improve the situation. There is a mobilization in many areas. It is not an extraordinary situation because we are in the winter season and this week it has been predicted that there will be a lot of rainfall. So far, the situation is expected to be controllable. We are following the situation closely and intensively. The cascade of Drin, Fierza, Koman and Vau i Dejes is being monitored,” he said.
