Citizens in Vlora have started shopping for food for the New Year’s dinner. According to them, the prices in the markets are high and therefore they cannot afford them. Most families find it impossible to fulfill their wishes for the holiday table due to the difficult economic situation.

“A store should be opened only for pensioners, with the name “Trade for pensioners”. It’s too bad for pensioners, the prices are too high, it’s a shame, a shame! It is difficult with 150,000 lek, it cannot be done; I pay for the lights, the water, life is difficult”, said a pensioner.

Another elderly person shares the opinion that the prices are unaffordable for pensioners.

“As for pensioners, the prices were scandalous! Of course, they are unaffordable, what will we get? Let the child live, they lied to us with those 150,000 lek, this was a lie, a fraud.”

Buyers complain about the prices, while traders say that they did not sell even for the holidays. According to them, the purchasing power has decreased since the citizens have no money to spend.

Many families in Vlora benefit from minimal income, causing them not to celebrate with full tables as they would like.
