“Political Barometer”, the electoral survey conducted by MRB in collaboration with Euronews Albania unveiled that the race for the district of Elbasan will be tight with 46.5% of citizens seeing Edi Rama as more fit for the prime minister’s post, while 40% preferred Basha.
Both candidates ranked better than on a national scale, where Basha is noticeably more preferred in the district rather than on a national level.
In Fier, the desire to see Rama reclaiming his seat at the Prime Minister’s Office was estimated at 55%, a figure visibly higher than that of Rama on a national level, but also compared to figures for Basha in the district.
The percentage of those who responded that they do not prefer either of the candidates, respectively 12.6% in Elbasan and 14.6% in Fier, is lower than on a national rank (19.2%).
Citizens were also asked over their opinion for the three main leaders where they answered as below:
Positive opinion:
- Edi Rama – Elbasan 49%; Fier 59.5%
- Lulzim Basha – Elbasan 45.6%; Fier 34.8%
- Monika Kryemadhi – Elbasan 15.8%; Fier 7.9%
According to the survey, it results that the current premier Edi Rama has the highest likeability among the citizens of Fier and Elbasan. Meanwhile what stands out in the survey is the large difference of the respondents that have a negative opinion for the leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration Monika Kryemadhi, particularly in Fier (91.8%).
