Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), Albin Kurti, is expected to meet on Saturday with the heads of other political parties in search of consensus for the constitution of the Assembly, following the parliamentary elections held on February 9.
The meeting is expected to be attended by the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi; the head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku; the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj; and the leader of the Social Democratic Initiative, Fatmir Limaj.
The Assembly remains not fully constituted, as political parties have failed to reach an agreement on the candidate proposed by Vetëvendosje – the winner of the most votes in the election – for the position of Speaker of the Assembly, as well as on the proposed change in the voting procedure from open to secret ballot.
