The Constitutional Court has agreed to examine the lawsuit for the concession of the Archeological Park of Butrint.

The news was announced on social media by the MP of the Democratic Party, Ina Zhupa.

Through a post on social media, Zhupa stated that the Constitutional Court will live up to its name and has invited the parties to submit relevant evidence by January 27 of this year.

The lawsuit in question was filed against the Butrint concession and was signed by 36 MPs. According to the MPs of the Democratic Party, the concessionary contract for the management of the archeological park of Butrint has a number of legal violations.

In the lawsuit, DP requests the Constitutional Court to repeal the law on the concession of Butrint followed by the immediate suspension of this law, because according to them, it creates damages that would be irreparable.

During the months of October and November, the agreement for the management of the Butrint National Park by the Albanian-American foundation AADF and the Albanian state was at the center of debates between the opposition and the ruling majority. The law was approved only by the Socialist majority vote as the 18 opposition MPs in the session voted against it.
