At the request of Balkan Investigative Reporting Network and the Association of Journalists of Albania regarding the shutdown of TikTok, the Constitutional Court of Albania issued a decision this Wednesday.

It is reported that, by majority vote, the Constitutional Court considered the shutdown of TikTok unconstitutional and stated that it violated freedom of expression.

“The Court concluded that the interruption of access to the TikTok platform constitutes a restriction of freedom of expression and of the press,” the decision states.
