Around 92% of businesses in the country reported profits during the first half of this year. According to a survey by the Bank of Albania, sales performance was strongest among large enterprises and those in the construction and trade sectors.
The solid financial performance has contributed to reducing debt levels, with about 33% of enterprises stating they currently have loans to repay. This figure has dropped by 3 to 4 percentage points compared to last year.
Approximately 85% of businesses consider their level of borrowing to be appropriate, 7% consider it low, and 8% consider it high. Compared to 2024, the demand for financing among small and medium-sized enterprises has remained unchanged, while in large enterprises it has decreased.
The services sector continues to hold the highest debt ratio, with 20% of businesses reporting that their debt is equal to or exceeds their capital value.
Meanwhile, by the end of 2025, all three groups of enterprises—large, medium, and small—expect further financial growth.
