The Council of Ministers, during its meeting this Friday, approved several decisions. Among them was the decision regarding the minimum wage. According to the Council of Ministers’ decision, the minimum monthly base wage for employees nationwide—which is mandatory for implementation by every employer, legal or natural person, domestic or foreign—will be set at 50,000 (fifty thousand) lekë.

The minimum monthly base wage is calculated for 174 working hours per month, performed during normal working hours. This decision enters into force after its publication in the Official Gazette and its financial effects will begin on January 1, 2026.
