At the close of the voting process, State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi made a statement to the media, calling on political parties to remain calm and show restraint.

“What we all need to keep in mind is the calm that political parties and leaders must maintain. It is advisable to disregard any statements made by parties regarding results based on ballot evaluations, as they hold no value and do not contribute positively.

The votes are in the ballot boxes, and we must patiently await the counting. All sides should show calmness and restraint.

The preliminary results will be available no later than Tuesday afternoon.

The CEC will not tolerate any case or initiative that undermines the integrity of the counting process,” Celibashi stated.

He also addressed the diaspora vote, and specifically the ballots from Greece. When asked about their fate, Celibashi said: “The process of assessing votes from abroad is the responsibility of counting groups set up for this purpose. It will be up to their evaluation. Based on their decisions, I may intervene in the process on a case-by-case basis,” he concluded.
