Dr.Eugena Tomini, from the Public Health Institution, announced that after making 239 tests in the past 24 hours, 33 persons have resulted positive with COVID-19.

Unfortunately, the number of persons needing hospitalization has increased once again. There are 82 persons needing hospital treatment due to COVID-19. This number, until a few weeks ago, kept being stable at less than 20.

The good news is that only 82 hospitalized COVID-19 patients needed ventilation. The total number of active cases has now reached 792.

The past week was the worst registered since the beginning of the pandemic, with 9 deaths and more than 400 new cases. A similar increase was marked in Kosovo and North Macedonia as well.

Albania has made 23,692 tests so far, which have resulted in 1995 confirmed cases and 44 deaths. 1159 patients have recovered.
