COVID-19 cases on the rise again in Kosovo

One person lost their life today and 1370 others were confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus in Kosovo.

The ministry of health reported that the positivity scale was confirmed after the results came back for a total of 9 000 tests.

In addition, 47 citizens recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries since the onset of the pandemic to 106.056.

In all of Kosovo, there are currently 6.815 active cases. Many medical professionals link the rapid spread of infections with the Delta variant, which has contributed to a rise of virus contractions in countries worldwide.

Authorities are putting stricter measures in place, amongst which the requirement to wear protective face masks in all indoor spaces.

A total of 2.280 citizens have lost their live due to complications arising from the COVID-19 virus, since the outbreak of the pandemic in Kosovo.
