New infections over the past 24 hours saw a slight decrease in Albania.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the virus claimed the lives of 3 people, while 496 tested positive.
However, recent high figures were associated with rising hospitalizations. At the moment, there are 97 patients at the Infective Diseases Hospital in Tirana, of which 17 with severe symptoms.
Tirana also counts the highest number of active cases, estimated at around 3,400.
More than 133,000 citizens have recovered so far with another 145,000 testing positive to the virus from the beginning of the pandemic.
The official death toll in the country of 2.83 million is 2,495, of which a majority were suffering from underlying conditions, medical authorities say.
