It took two airplanes to deliver the largest quantity of COVID-19 vaccines that have ever landed at the airport of Skopje.
The State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Ivanka Stojanoski, and the Chinese Ambassador to the country, Zhang Zuo, were at the airport to welcome the delivery of the 500,000 Sinovac jabs.
The doses will be stored at the polyclinic “Jane Sandanski”, from where they will be distributed to various vaccination sites.
The jabs arrived in North Macedonia at a time when the epidemiological situation has improved significantly.
The Ministry of Health reported 6 new confirmed cases on Sunday, but no deaths.
An estimated 5,484 citizens have died from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
