Democratic Party leader Basha: Rama’s progressive tax has plunged Albania’s economy into chaos

Leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha has accused the government as regards economy, which according to him has plunged into chaos due to mismanagement and tax abuse.

Basha accuses Prime Minister Edi Rama that with the progressive tax, which according to him has been strongly criticized by international organizations such as the IMF, has favored a handful of clients and oligarchs and has put the state and every policy fiscal services in their service leaving the citizens at the mercy of fate.

“With every day that passes, Albanians pay more taxes, while Rama uses them in his favor and for his clients. As a result of this mismanagement and arrogance, Albania plunges into poverty, people lose their jobs and the economic crisis deepens,” writes Basha.

According to him, the economic plan of the Democratic Party will return stability in the country and among people.

“We believe that if citizens have more money they will investment in education and training and give impetus to economic growth. Our fiscal policy is based on the flat tax of 9% for citizens and employees, the simplest and lowest tax in all countries in the region,” said the DP leader.
