Deputy prime minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, said that it is important that the elected mayors of the municipalities in the north start providing services to citizens as soon as possible.
Bislimi made these comments during a meeting with the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon.
“As mayors of municipalities, they can exercise their responsibilities only from the municipal buildings, from where they serve the interests of every citizen without distinction”, said Bislimi.
Bislimi made this statement despite the fact that the representatives of the QUINT countries in Kosovo – the USA, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and France – asked the Government of Kosovo to take steps that would lead to the escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo.
