Analyst Aleksandër Çipa said on Ilva Now that the local government wasn’t decisive for SP’s votes and this was testified clearly by the electoral districts of Fier and Vlora.

According to him, in these two districts, where SP has invested more than anywhere else, it wasn’t rewarded with votes, as is identified by its declining result compared to the 2017 elections.

“Let’s take Fier and Vlora for example, which are the cities with the greatest investment in their history. I believe that local governance had little to do with it as there was a decline in the number of voters compared to 2017.

A lot was expected from Vlora, even though there’s a clear conflict between its local and central governments,” said Çipa.

According to him, the difference between the two camps in the case of Vlora and Fier is linked with the strategy of the political sides.

“SP maximized its votes in Vlora, but it wasn’t able to do the same in Fier and if DP and SMI would have coordinated beforehand, they might’ve kept their two mandates, 1 in Vlora and 1 in Fier; but they didn’t focus on building this. The local strategy between DP-SMI didn’t work,” said the analyst.
